As Head of SEND - You will have a vital leadership role in shaping and delivering Nottingham's vision for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. As a key member of the Children's and Education Services Senior Leadership Team, you will provide strategic direction across SEND services, ensuring children, young people and families receive high‑quality, inclusive support that improves outcomes and life chances.
Working collaboratively with education, health, and social care partners, you will lead service transformation, drive continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with statutory duties and national reforms.
We are looking for an inspiring and influential leader with a strong track record of delivering improvement within complex SEND systems. You will combine strategic vision with operational excellence, translating national policy into effective local practice while championing co‑production with children, young people, and families.
With a commitment to innovation, partnership working and inclusive practice, you will play a key role in strengthening Nottingham's SEND offer, ensuring services are responsive, sustainable, and focused on achieving the very best outcomes for children and young people.
You will hold an appropriate professional qualification as a qualified and registered social worker or an equivalent and relevant qualification (at degree level). Or Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent qualification.
