Introduction London Borough of Lewisham is seeking an experienced and ambitious stock investment manager to lead the delivery of major housing investment programmes across our housing portfolio. This is a key leadership role within the Stock Investment and Asset Management service, responsible for managing significant planned maintenance, refurbishment, compliance and building safety programmes.  Managing programmes ranging from 20 million-70 million, you will oversee projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and in line with statutory and regulatory requirements.

The roles also provides strategic support to the service and deputises for the Head of Stock Investment and Asset Management when required.

What’s the role?

This role involves:

Lead and manage teams delivering major planned maintenance, refurbishment and capital investment programmes across the Council's housing stock.

Oversee the delivery of projects from design and procurement through to construction, completion and final account, ensuring cost control and value for money.

Lead Section 20 consultation processes and ensure effective engagement with residents and leaseholders.

Ensure projects comply with building safety legislation, health and safety requirements, building regulations and Council policies.

Build and maintain productive relationships with residents, contractors, consultants, elected members and other key stakeholders.

Manage contractors, consultants and professional teams to achieve high standards of quality, cost, programme and customer satisfaction.

Monitor programme performance, risk, compliance and governance, providing clear reporting to senior management.

Support the development of long-term investment strategies, asset management plans and service improvements.

What we’re looking forWe are looking for an experienced housing, asset management or construction professional with a proven track record of delivering complex capital investment programmes. You will be a dynamic team player and problem solver with commitment to delivering high quality, compliant and cost-effective project outcomes within the public sector or social housing environment. Possess strong leadership skills, exceptional financial acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills and extensive knowledge and experience in delivering projects using various contract types.

Location The job is primarily based in Laurence House, Catford, London, SE6 4RU
, but we operate a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
