Direct Mail Account Director

My Client is an award winning expert in Direct Mail, Data Management, Postage Solutions, High Quality Print, Storage and Distribution they are well established and take great pride in the work they produce for their customers.

They work with well-known names across the UK and Globally and are looking to recruit an Account Director to join their team.

The purpose of this role is to deliver exceptional customer service and strategic account management across the companies key print and direct mail clients. Acting as the senior client contact within the Customer Services function, the role is responsible for the accurate, timely and commercially sound delivery of client projects.

This position combines strategic client ownership and commercial acumen with hands-on project oversight, ensuring that the company maintains its reputation for reliability, precision, and best-in-class service delivery. The Account Director will act as a mentor and escalation point within the team, supporting the Customer Services Director to drive client satisfaction and consistency across all accounts.

• Act as the senior contact for key client accounts, ensuring satisfaction, retention and growth.
• Develop a full understanding of each client's brand, requirements and communication objectives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships to support long-term partnerships.
• Provide professional guidance, updates, and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Escalate client challenges or risks to the Customer Services Director promptly.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain competitive prices, timings, and production options.
• Ensure profitability and margin integrity across all assigned client projects.
• Collaborate with the Commercial & IT Director to review pricing structures, rebates, and cost efficiency opportunities.
• Oversee the end-to-end delivery of all client projects, including print, direct mail, fulfilment, and distribution.
• Liaise with external print, data, and postal suppliers to confirm lead times, approvals, and documentation required for live campaigns.
• Coordinate with the Production & Operations Director to achieve timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Provide feedback to the Customer Services Director regarding client trends, opportunities, and performance.
• Support and mentor Account Managers and Executives by sharing expertise, process knowledge, and best practices.

• Minimum 5 years' experience in account management within direct mail, print or marketing services.
• Proven success in managing high-value clients and complex multi-channel campaigns.
• Sound understanding of postal services (DSA and Royal Mail) and fulfilment processes.
• Experience in ISO-certified or quality-controlled environments is advantageous
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Exceptional organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure.
• High level of commercial awareness and analytical ability.
• Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
