With a workforce of more than 6,000 people, NHSBT supports donation and transplantation services that save and improve lives across the UK.

Its organ donation and transplantation (ODT) programme is currently undergoing significant transformation, including the establishment of a national Assessment and Recovery Centre (ARC) service to extend equitable access to life-saving treatments.### The role

This Senior Service Designer position sits within the OTDT Product Centre, embedded in a multidisciplinary agile programme team at the forefront of organ transplantation transformation. You would report into and work alongside designers, developers, testers, and analysts to deliver services for donors, patients, families, and NHSBT colleagues. The role is permanent, 37.5 hours per week, and based in England with hybrid working arrangements.###

What you would do
* Design end-to-end user journeys that help donors, patients, and colleagues complete their goals across both digital and offline channels.
* Lead the creation and iteration of design artefacts and prototypes with key service users and stakeholders.
* Develop service propositions and service maps to align the delivery team around a shared direction.
* Design, lead, and facilitate co-design workshops with a wide range of stakeholders, including potential and current donors, patients, and internal colleagues.
* Champion human-centred design tools and techniques across the organisation, including user research, service mapping, ideation, co-design, prototyping, and storyboarding.
* Execute the service vision, reimagining the service experience and implementing service design as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Contribute to the design of products and policies with service providers, covering both existing and new services end-to-end.
* Manage, coach, and mentor a team of user researchers, ensuring performance excellence and creating development pathways.
* Lead or support user research activities across the organisation and with end users.
* Communicate complex and potentially contentious issues such as service redesign to a broad range of stakeholders, including senior management and executives, driving consensus and decision-making.### What they are looking for
* Significant experience advocating, applying, and adapting service design methodologies for complex challenges and contexts.
* Ability to design workable prototypes (both digital and physical) and understand the parameters and constraints involved.
* Strong understanding of how the digital economy is changing user behaviour and the public sector landscape.
* Ability to work within given constraints, including technology, policy, regulatory, financial, and legal considerations.
* Experience identifying user needs based on evidence, translating user stories into design approaches or services.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Master's degree or equivalent relevant experience, plus extensive further experience in user-centred design gained through on-the-job…
