Overview
Quality Controller role focused on safeguarding food safety and quality, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures, and supporting production and quality teams to prevent sub-standard ingredients and unsafe products leaving site.
Responsibilities- Conduct duties in a manner that safeguards your own safety and the safety of others.
- Ensure all activities comply with company procedures for Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene.
- Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; communicate required adjustments to the Quality Supervisor and/or Production Supervisor.
- Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests; return products for re-work; confirm re-work.
- Complete paperwork and records of checks carried out, including weight checks, temperature checks, label checks, metal detection, and checkweigher checks where required.
- Communicate Internal and Supplier Non-Conformances through Daily Quality Reports.
- Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and highlighting repair needs.
- Support the production team and ensure prevention of use of sub-standard ingredients and the prevention of poor quality or potentially unsafe products leaving site.
- Support the NPD and Production teams during production trials.
- Report issues to the Quality Manager/Supervisor that may compromise food safety, food legality or product quality.
- Carry out any other reasonable working instruction from the Quality Supervisor, Quality Manager and Technical Manager.
- Excellent communicator - both written and oral.
- Highly energetic, enthusiastic, and creative.
- Excellent planning and organising skills.
- IT literate.
- Experience working within a Quality Department within a food industry.
