CNC Machinist, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Production
We’re a hybrid CNC and metal 3D printing machine shop serving motor sport, space, and aerospace programs. We print in Ti-6
Al-4V (Ti64), Aluminium, Stainless Steel, and Inconel 718, then post-machine to tolerances typically tighter than 0.05 mm. Our quality system is AS9100, and our culture prizes precision, pace, and pride in the finished part.
Step into a highly technical, hands‑on environment where you’ll take ownership of one‑off and short‑run components from set‑up through final inspection. You’ll work in a small, dynamic team operating with an elite F1‑shop mindset: deliver complex parts right first time, under compressed lead times.
Duties- Take full responsibility for tool set‑up, 5‑axis machining, in‑process verification, and final inspection.
- Develop work holding and prove out set‑ups for complex AM geometries.
- Achieve and hold tolerances of ≤0.05 mm across titanium, aluminium, stainless, and nickel alloys.
- Select and optimise tooling, feeds, and speeds to balance quality, cycle time, and tool life.
- Measure and record dimensions accurately using hand measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, FARO inspection arm, Go/No
Go gauges), maintaining clear inspection records aligned to AS9100 requirements. - Collaborate closely with AM, programming, and QA to ensure parts meet spec the first time.
- 2–3 years’ experience operating and setting 5‑axis CNC milling centres.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes and tooling selection.
- Proven ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, forward‑thinking approach.
- Genuine interest in the craft of making complex, high‑performance components.
- Exposure to metal AM and post‑processing.
- Probing, metrology, GD&T, CMM/inspection workflows, and basic SPC.
- Machining high‑strength alloys (titanium, Inconel).
You’ll work at the cutting edge, producing parts that run on track, fly, and reach orbit. Expect real ownership, rapid learning, and the satisfaction of delivering elite‑level quality within an AS9100 environment.
