Location:
Belfast Job Type: Permanent Hours of Work: 40 hours per week Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (depending on experience) Benefits Product discount scheme. Supportive and collaborative working environment. Main Duties Lead and manage the production team, including Team Leaders, to achieve daily production targets.
Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demand and business objectives. Monitor production performance, labour productivity, quality, waste and operational KPIs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Ensure compliance with Food Safety, GMP, HACCP and quality standards. Promote a positive health and safety culture, ensuring safe systems of work are followed. Manage staffing levels, holidays, absence, overtime and workforce planning.
Coach, develop and support employees through performance management and training. Work closely with Supply Chain, Warehouse, Technical and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth operations. Maintain accurate production records, stock control and traceability documentation. Support internal and external audits while implementing corrective actions where required. Manage the production cost centre and provide regular operational reporting to senior management. Requirements Previous experience as a Production Manager, Production Supervisor or similar leadership role within manufacturing.
Experience working within a food manufacturing environment. Strong leadership, coaching and people management skills. Knowledge of GMP, food safety and quality management systems.
Experience with production planning, KPI management and continuous improvement. Excellent communication, problem-solving and organisational skills. Confident using ERP, production planning or stock management systems. HACCP, Food Safety or Health & Safety qualifications are desirable but not essential. Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience would be advantageous.
