Sunday to Wednesday: 7:30pm - 6:00am

The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Saw Operator to join a well-established manufacturing company in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience operating metal saws / industrial cutting machinery who is looking for a stable, long-term position working a consistent night shift.

Working as part of the production team, you'll be responsible for accurately cutting metal materials to customer requirements, ensuring all components meet the required specifications, dimensions and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and program metal saws to cut material accurately.
Check material specifications including length, width, thickness, alloy and grain direction.
Read and work from cutting plans and drawings.
Measure and verify finished components using micrometers, calipers and tape measures.
Carry out first-off and routine dimensional checks.
Mark and label finished parts and remnant material correctly.
Carry out daily checks and basic maintenance of the saw.
Operate forklift trucks, jib cranes and vacuum lifts when required.
Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy throughout the production process.
Complete production and productivity records.
Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Follow all health and safety procedures and PPE requirements.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience operating machinery within a metal processing, engineering or manufacturing environment.
Experience operating a metal saw or similar cutting machinery.
Able to read and work from drawings and cutting plans.
Comfortable working with measurements, tolerances and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Good basic mathematical skills.
Reliable, organised and able to work to deadlines.
Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good understanding of health and safety.

Experience with in the metal industry and knowledge of Stelplan would be an advantage.
