Inside We're hiring for a Production Planner to join our client on a long-term contract based in Reading, working five days per week onsite. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Planner to support complex manufacturing and operational programmes, ensuring production demands are effectively balanced against capability while maintaining quality, safety and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities As a Production Planner, you will play a key role in coordinating demand and supply across operational delivery units, translating master production schedules into detailed daily plans and ensuring production activities are executed efficiently. You'll work closely with manufacturing, operational teams and wider stakeholders to remove barriers, optimise performance and support continuous improvement initiatives. The role will involve maintaining rough cut capacity planning models, managing planning activities within MRP systems, producing manufacturing cost estimates and ensuring customer requirements are released within agreed timescales.
You will also contribute to KPI reporting, support the development of production schedules and champion lean planning methodologies including visual management, Kanban and push/pull techniques. Requirements Essential Proven experience in a Production Planner or manufacturing planning position Successful applicants will be required to be Security Cleared (SC) prior to appointment and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance Strong understanding of production scheduling and capacity planning Experience using MRP systems Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production control techniques Strong stakeholder management and communication skills Desirable:
Experience with in highly regulated manufacturing environments Knowledge of Lean Planning methodologies
