Job DescriptionSummary
Historic England is the public organisation that brings new life to heritage to build a better future for every place and everyone.
Historic England has a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as our Communications Officer (Heritage Funds)
This is a part time, (32 hours per week), 48 month fixed term contract, until March 2030.
The location of this role is either York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol, or Portsmouth, inclusive with hybrid working.
We offer a wide benefits package including a competitive defined benefit pension scheme to which we make 28.97% employer contributions, a generous 28 days holiday, corporate discounts, free entry into English Heritage sites across the country and development opportunities to ensure you achieve your goals.
What you will be doing
Supporting the Communications Manager to develop, deliver and promote the Heritage At Risk Capital Fund (HARCF) and the Places of Worship Renewal Fund (PWRF). Working closely with colleagues from within the Engagement department and the central teams responsible for administering both funding streams, you will help bring stories to life and help audiences understand the value of heritage for people and place, and the positive results that come from investing in it.
You will help maximise opportunities to communicate the benefits of the funding streams, what heritage regeneration brings, highlighting community stories and how Historic England helps to deliver the Government’s missions
Who we are looking for
Experience of planning and delivering communications campaigns or projects, using a range of communication channels, working collaboratively with colleagues and evaluating outcomes.
Experience of producing clear, engaging communications and adapting complex information for different audiences across a variety of channels.
Experience of building effective relationships and working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve communications objectives.
Ability to develop creative communications ideas and identify opportunities to increase audience engagement and campaign impact.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, organise workload effectively and deliver high-quality communications to deadline.
Please note your application will be scored and assessed against the above criteria.
