We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grant Writer to oversee the organisation’s grant acquisition and management processes. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in securing funding through effective research and planning, writing grant proposals, managing grant administration processes, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our organisation’s growth and impact by ensuring the timely and successful acquisition of grants.
The Grant Writer will work closely with various teams to align grant activities with organisational goals, ensuring compliance and fostering strong relationships with funders.
- Identify potential funding opportunities through research and networking.
- Prepare, submit, and manage grant applications and proposals, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain detailed records of grant activities using CRM software such as ‘Raiser's Edge’.
- Cultivate and sustain relationships with current and prospective funders, partners, and stakeholders.
- Monitor grant progress, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and prepare progress reports.
- Collaborate with marketing, public relations, fundraising and accounting teams for all data and budget collation requirements.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on grant status, upcoming opportunities, and potential risks.
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, or related roles within the non-profit or public sector.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage effectively with funders, partners, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in CRM software such as ‘Raiser's Edge’ for tracking grants and donor information.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills for drafting compelling proposals, reports, and correspondence.
- Knowledge of marketing principles to promote organisational achievements through various channels.
- Expertise in Grant Writing and Proposal Writing
- Experience in Grant Administration and compliance management
- Strong skills in Prospect Research to identify suitable funding opportunities
- Knowledge of Fundraising strategies and stakeholder engagement
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and project management abilities
- Proficiency with grant management tools and software is an advantage
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Nonprofit Management, English, or a related field
This is a contract role with flexible working arrangements.
Hourly rate: £23ph
