We’re looking for a passionate and inspiring Community, Participation and Volunteering Coordinator to join our newly formed Urban Community, Participation and Volunteering team. In this exciting role, you’ll develop and deliver inclusive and participative approaches across our portfolio putting people and communities at the heart of everything we do. As Community, Participation and Volunteering Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in building stronger connections with local communities and diversify volunteering and other ways to get involved, helping people discover, enjoy, and care for nature and heritage.
Whatit’s like to work here
You’ll be part of a Community and Participation team working across the portfolio and reporting to the Senior Community, Participation and Volunteering Manager. Most of the time you’ll be based on one of the properties in the portfolio working with a variety of people from different backgrounds, and increasing our reach into communities in urban environments. You will engage with people on our sites as well as offsite, bringing nature and heritage connection to the heart of local communities.
Your work could take you to any of the sites we look after – including Divis and the Black Mountain, Lisnabreeny, Minnowburn, Patterson’s Spade Mill and Derrymore Demesne in Newry – requiring you to travel between these places and being prepared to work some evening and weekends as work emerges and community needs dictate.
