The Conservation Volunteers (Northern Ireland) TCVNI

Roles can vary from practical conservation, environmental education or community development.

It is a voluntary role which comes with training to ensure that you as the VO can confidently and safely lead tasks and projects.

You will be given resources, management time, space to work, finance for expenses and materials.

Volunteer Officer roles often involve work with vulnerable people. This could be working with children or with adults  a result some VO’s will be considered to be in a ‘position of trust’ and may require a criminal record check at the basic or enhanced level.

Training:

• Welcome to TCV, Modules 1 – 3
• Introduction to E-learning
• Basic emergency first aid
• Equality in the workplace
• Stress Awareness

It will also be possible to attend talks on various topics like conservation, composting, bird and bats etc from our Project Officers who regularly deliver sessions on the above and more. This opportunity will allow for workplace learning and development that typical Volunteering roles do not.

Expenses:

TCV aims to cover the core costs of Volunteer Officers travel to the project, as well as any travel costs met during their volunteering – this helps to keep volunteering accessible to all.

We will also provide you with suitable outdoor clothing.
