The Role

Charity Jobs NI is delighted to be representing Market Development Association (MDA) in the recruitment of an Inner South Belfast Neighbourhood Partnership Coordinator.

This is a key community development and neighbourhood renewal role supporting the Inner South Belfast Neighbourhood Renewal Partnership and helping to deliver priorities within its Neighbourhood Renewal Action Plan.

Working closely with the Partnership Chair, Board, MDA and a wide range of community, voluntary and statutory partners, you will coordinate activity, strengthen partnership working and help turn local priorities into practical projects and positive outcomes.

Combining community development, regeneration, project coordination, stakeholder engagement, funding and governance, this opportunity may particularly suit someone currently working as a Neighbourhood Renewal Coordinator, Community Development Officer, Community Development Coordinator, Regeneration Officer, Community Regeneration Officer, Partnership Coordinator, Community Partnership Officer, Programme Coordinator, Project Coordinator or Project Officer within the charity, voluntary, community or public sector.

About Market Development Association (MDA)

Market Development Association has been working at the heart of Belfasts Market community since 1995, promoting the wellbeing of local residents and helping to create a vibrant and sustainable community where people want to live, work and socialise.

Using a community development and rights-based approach, MDA works alongside residents, statutory agencies, government departments and other partners to address local priorities, encourage active citizenship and advocate for positive social and economic change. Its work spans areas including housing, children and young people, health, community cohesion and safety, education, employment, training and community sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Support implementation of the Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy, Action Plan, Code of Practice and Guiding Principles.
• Provide technical, administrative and secretariat support to the Partnership and its sub-groups.
• Work with community and statutory representatives to identify priorities and develop programmes and project proposals.
• Build effective relationships with statutory agencies, community organisations, funders and other stakeholders.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support priorities within the Neighbourhood Action Plan.
• Support communications and contribute to reporting on Partnership activity, progress and outcomes.
• Meet with the Partnership Chair, Board and Department for Communities representatives to review progress against agreed targets.
• Facilitate Partnership, sub-group and working-group meetings and ensure agreed actions are followed up.
• Support effective governance procedures, including those relating to conflicts of interest.
• Promote collaboration and cohesion across Inner South Belfast to strengthen community development and deliver social benefit.
• Work with other Neighbourhood Renewal Partnerships and participate in wider partnership forums and initiatives.
• Monitor project progress and outcomes and provide clear reports to relevant stakeholders.
• Organise community engagement activities including workshops, seminars and meetings.
• Maintain effective communications with residents, service users, partners and funders.
• Provide support to MDA with office duties, resident support and festival activity as required.

The role requires flexibility, including some evening and weekend work and travel where required.

We are looking for an experienced community development, neighbourhood renewal, regeneration or project coordination professional who is confident working across communities, committees and multi-agency partnerships.
