Bio Grad Limited is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our Quality Team. This entry‑level position is ideal for a recent graduate or someone looking to begin a career in Quality Assurance within the life sciences sector.
The successful candidate will support the day‑to‑day operation of the company’s Quality Management System (QMS), assisting with documentation control, audit preparation, and general quality administration tasks, while working under the supervision and mentorship of experienced QA staff. Full training will be provided.
Candidates are expected to have a basic understanding of research tissue bank operations and key elements of quality assurance, including document control, handling non‑conformances, and the different types of audits. A proactive interest in developing these skills further will be considered an advantage.
This role will primarily support commercial research tissue bank operations within the Bio Grad Biobank department, with the potential for future progression into other regulatory and operational areas, including GMP, CQC, and ISO‑regulated activities.
Reports to: Head of Scientific Operations
Band 2 (£26,010 – £32,000) — full‑time or part‑time considered
Role - Specific ResponsibilitiesQuality Assurance
- Assist with maintaining up‑to‑date quality documentation and controlled records within the electronic QMS system (RADAR)
- Support the scheduling and preparation of internal audits (e.g. collating documentation, tracking actions)
- Help prepare basic KPI data and quality metrics for monthly management reviews
- Assist with document control activities, such as issuing, archiving, and updating SOPs
- Support the tracking and closure of quality‑related actions assigned to operational teams
Quality Control
- Assist in the review of batch production documentation under supervision
- Support the preparation of labels, certificates, and basic batch records as instructed
- Observe and learn about product release processes and regulatory compliance checks
Administration
- Maintain and update user accounts in the electronic QMS
- Log and track training records and other quality‑related records
- Provide general administrative support to the QA team
General
- Work collaboratively with other team members and departments
- Attend and contribute to team meetings
- Follow instructions carefully and seek clarification when needed
- Take part in training sessions and professional development activities

Qualifications, Training & Knowledge
Degree in a scientific discipline (or equivalent experience) – Essential
Basic understanding of quality or regulatory principles (e.g. ISO 9001, HTA) – Essential
Willingness to undertake further training and professional development – Essential
Experience
Experience working to deadlines or in a structured environment (e.g. university projects, placements, part‑time jobs) – Essential
Previous experience in a regulated environment or laboratory setting – Desirable
Experience using electronic document systems or databases – Desirable
