Full Time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced and driven Hygiene Manager to lead hygiene operations within a fast-paced high-care food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, food safety, and compliance are maintained across all production and high-care areas, supporting customer, retailer, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities typically include managing hygiene teams, overseeing cleaning schedules and procedures, supporting audits, and driving continuous improvement in hygiene performance.?
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage the site hygiene team to deliver exceptional hygiene standards. Develop, implement, and continuously improve hygiene procedures, CICs, and cleaning schedules. Ensure all high-care areas, equipment, and production environments are cleaned and sanitised to required standards. Manage chemical usage, COSHH compliance, and safe systems of work. Verify cleaning effectiveness through inspections, environmental monitoring, and microbiological testing. Maintain audit readiness at all times for BRCGS, customer, and regulatory audits.
Conduct hygiene, food safety, and GMP audits and ensure corrective actions are completed. Investigate hygiene-related non-conformances and implement root cause corrective actions. Work closely with Technical, Operations, Engineering, and QA teams to improve hygiene performance and food safety culture. Deliver training and development programmes for hygiene operatives and supervisors. Manage hygiene budgets, labour resources, and consumables effectively. Requirements Proven experience as a Hygiene Manager or Senior Hygiene Supervisor within a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of high-care and high-risk food production environments. Excellent understanding of HACCP, GMP, BRCGS, and COSHH. Experience leading and developing hygiene teams. Strong audit, investigation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to drive continuous improvement and food safety culture initiatives. Advanced Food Hygiene qualification desirable. IOSH/NEBOSH, HACCP Level 3/4, or equivalent qualifications are advantageous. Salary expectation negotiable
