Calibration Technician - Shift Work Salary:

Negotiable, depending on industry experience and skills

Working Hours:

38 hours per week, half-day finish every Friday

On-site, Belfast

Role Overview Responsible for carrying out calibration activities and thermal process surveys (SATs and TUSs) in accordance with aerospace standards, company procedures, and customer requirements. The role requires effective planning, communication, reporting, and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities Weekly Planning & Workload Management Work closely with the Supervisor/Manager to review upcoming calibration requirements. Plan and organise weekly workload to ensure testing activities are completed efficiently and on schedule. Identify resource requirements and communicate any constraints or priorities. Daily Management. Adapt plans and priorities to accommodate urgent requests, production requirements, or changes to the schedule. Maintain flexibility while ensuring calibration targets are achieved.

Coordination & Preparation Liaise with operators, team leaders, supervisors, and managers to arrange machine and equipment availability for testing. Ensure all required tools, documentation, and calibrated equipment are available prior to commencing work. Conduct pre-use inspections and functionality checks on calibration equipment. Identify and report any out-of-date, damaged, or non-compliant equipment. Calibration & Testing Perform calibration activities on production and inspection equipment in accordance with approved procedures and aerospace quality standards.

Conduct System Accuracy Tests (SAT) and Temperature Uniformity Surveys (TUS) in compliance with applicable industry standards. Accurately record test data, calibration results, and observations. Follow all testing, reporting, and quality procedures while maintaining safe working practices at all times. Documentation & Reporting Complete and maintain accurate calibration records and reports. Update daily and weekly progress reports. Maintain calibration management systems, ensuring records remain current and traceable.

Escalate any non-conformances, equipment failures, or compliance concerns. Health, Safety & Compliance Adhere to all company Health & Safety policies and procedures. Wear and maintain appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Report incidents, accidents, hazards, and near misses promptly. Ensure all work is carried out in line with aerospace quality and regulatory requirements. Professional Responsibility Act as a professional representative of the company at all times.

Take ownership and accountability for work quality and completion. Support colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Provide cover and operational support for the Supervisor where required. What were looking for Knowledge of calibration principles and aerospace quality standards. Experience conducting SAT and TUS testing. Strong planning, organisational, and time-management skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities. Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record keeping.

Ability to work independently and manage changing priorities. Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality compliance.
