Quality Control Technician

Office based in Sittingbourne

Working hours:

8.00-5.00 (Mon-Thur), 8.00-4.00 Friday (45 min lunch) My client works with large retail clients, sourcing branded and unbranded products from manufacturers across China, India, Vietnam, & Indonesia. Quality Control ensures that every item adheres to the UK’s legal, safety, environmental, and quality standards covering both its country of manufacture and ensuring the compliance standards are met to be sold within the UK.

Working at the product hub of a busy and expanding company, my client has an exciting opportunity to join their Quality Control Team. This administrative position forms a vital part of the Quality Control function by ensuring the requirements of the Quality Control process are met. The successful candidate will be an organized person who is able to work in a fast-moving environment, liaising across several teams.

Good IT skills and the ability to work across numerous in-house systems, a high level of attention to detail and being a team player are all essential requirements. Key Performance Indicators PSI reports are completed within 24 hours of receiving them Factories complete CAP files within the allocated timelines. Quality reports are sent within 24h of the issue being identified.

Factory Debits for a particular month to be completed by month end of that month

Key Responsibilities Checking and analysing PSI reports Update NAV with PSI results and weights and dimensions from PSI reports Update NAV with PSI results from all areas of the world Advising PSI rework finding the quickest solution to an acceptable standard Creating and ensuring CAPS are submitted and followed up appropriately Authorising goods ready to ship from a QC perspective Co-ordinate and issue Factory Debit notes for tasks I deal with Barcode/labelling/carton markings produced and issued when reporting requires them.

Produce quality reports and feedback to factories and offices around the world to implement better quality and issue avoidance for future orders. Where there are issues, solutions are given to rectify. Support NPI in new product review and suggest solutions to quality issues seen. Liaise with other offices around the world and hold video calls to discuss quality issues with them leading to resolution and better quality Adhoc tasks as specified by the Head of Quality Control and Compliance Assist Warehouse and QC Warehouse with rework instructions.

Co-ordination with factories at the start of the week (Mondays) to book PSI inspections and chase factories 10 days in advance of shipment dates where PSI inspections have not been booked Co-ordinate the whole PSI process (including updating dates on NAV) Complete quality reports for issues identified from the goods in process or customer feedback. Reports sent to the vendor for action and CAP checked for a satisfactory resolution.

Work with NPI to create quality reports for new products, feeding back to factories the required changes that need to be made. Produce weekly report for Head of Quality and Compliance Ensure inspectors have relevant documents/detail to conduct PSI
