This is part time, permanent role.

The location of this role is either York, Manchester, Newcastle, Birmingham, Cambridge, Swindon, Bristol, Portsmouth or London, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing

The primary purpose of this post is to support the Research Development Team in their work to grow Historic England’s reputation as an Independent Research Organisation (IRO) through successful partnerships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), IROs and other research bodies. You will assist the team to develop research strategy, build relationships, submit high quality research funding proposals, monitor successful applications through post-award stages, including research dissemination, and run our Arts and Humanities Research Council-funded Collaborative Doctoral Partnership (CDP) and other doctoral programmes.

You will also provide occasional and pre-defined direct project support for the delivery of externally funded research.

Working closely with the Head of Research Development, Research Partnerships Manager (pre-award) and Research Manager (post-award), you will engage with staff across Historic England and externally to help build research opportunities and income in line with our corporate plan and research strategies.

Who we are looking for

A high-quality qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent relevant experience

Experience of supporting partnerships between organisations, ideally within in a research context

An understanding of the Higher Education sector and research

Demonstrable commitment to supporting early career skills development

Experience in project and/or information co-ordination

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Excellent organisational skills
