Position: Tesco Colleague - Newtownbreda Extra

Role Overview

Compensation starts from £13.28 an hour. Additional payments may apply depending on location and skills.

We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week, with flexibility to work as few as 12 hours.

Availability windows are provided below. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and give you three weeks' notice of your shifts. We are happy to accommodate flexibility if your availability closely matches these windows.

  • Sunday: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Monday: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Wednesday: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Friday: 06:00 – 14:00
  • Saturday: 06:00 – 14:00
Key Responsibilities
  • Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; give great natural service.
  • Be passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
  • Work across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  • Put into practice the training you have received, so we all work safely, effectively, and serve our customers brilliantly.
  • Make decisions that are right for customers, delivering routines that meet their needs in the right time.
  • Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  • Be knowledgeable about the store's performance, understanding your role in driving service, sales, waste reduction, shrink, and profit.
  • Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
  • Live our values, make everyone feel welcome, and always follow our policies.
  • At times you may be required to accept deliveries into the store.

  • A passion for delivering great service, greeting customers with a smile, and serving them with pride.
  • The ability to build rapport with customers, so they leave the store having experienced a great shopping trip.
  • The initiative to make decisions that are right for our customers.
  • Teamwork and open communication.
  • Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit and celebrate success.
  • Be on time, well presented, and ready to act as a brand ambassador.
