DescriptionWe’re looking for a motivated and customer-focused Retail Team Leader to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced retail professional to take on a key leadership role within the store. You’ll support the day-to-day operation of the retail department, lead and develop colleagues, and help deliver excellent customer service whilst driving sales and operational performance. Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full-time
Hours of Work: 37.5 Hours per week, working on a rota basis
As Retail Team Leader, you’ll play an important role in supporting the store leadership team and ensuring the retail department operates effectively. You’ll lead by example on the shop floor, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining high merchandising and stock standards, and supporting colleagues to achieve their full potential. You’ll work closely with the wider store team to drive sales, improve performance, and ensure customers receive a welcoming and knowledgeable service every time they visit.
Keyresponsibilities
- Leading and motivating the Retail Team to deliver outstanding customer service and operational standards
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the retail department and deputising for the Store Manager when required
- Coaching, developing, and supporting colleagues to maximise performance and engagement
- Driving sales performance, customer membership growth, and average basket spend
- Ensuring high standards of merchandising, stock availability, and store presentation
- Supporting stock management processes including replenishment, pricing, and stock accuracy
- Handling customer queries, complaints, refunds, and sales orders professionally and efficiently
- Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Previous experience in a retail supervisory or team leader position
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- The ability to motivate, coach, and develop others
- Good commercial awareness and an understanding of driving sales performance
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively
- A proactive, adaptable, and solution-focused approach
- Knowledge of the agricultural and countryside marketplace would be advantageous, but not essential
