Department Purpose To raise funds for Oxfams work and promote Oxfams values through the shop network. Job Purpose To manage and develop the shop team, deliver the agreed shop budget and maximise the shops contribution to Oxfam, primarily to raise funds and secondarily to promote Oxfams values.
Key Responsibilities Maximise sales from all retail activities Assist the District Retail Manager with the preparation, achievement and monitoring of shop income and expenditure budgets Maximise profitability through effective stock management Ensure sufficient stock is sorted, processed and available on the shop floor to meet income targets Maintain high standards of display and merchandising Ensure regular stock rotation Maintain a realistic, location-appropriate pricing structure in line with the Oxfam pricing guide Recruit, train, lead, manage and support the development of the shop team, including volunteers and placements Delegate duties appropriately to make best use of the talents of the whole team Maintain administration systems and ensure cash handling and financial activities comply with Oxfam policies and procedures Ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures Implement and maintain Retail Standards and the agreed Marketing Strategy for the location Ensure the shop team represents Oxfam and reinforces its values and beliefs Maintain a high level of customer service, both internally and externally Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies, regulations and product safety procedures Ensure the shop makes appropriate use of technology Represent Oxfam on internal and external bodies, working groups and events where appropriate Maximise appropriate local community networks Ensure the shop is open and operating effectively for a minimum of six days per week, including Bank Holidays when required Carry out any other duties within the scope and purpose of the role as required Key Competencies Staff and Volunteer Management:

Budget and sales analysis Product knowledge and trend awareness Merchandising Staff management experience Strong communication and networking skills Commercial ability and product knowledge Results-driven approach Ability to make teams work effectively Commitment to Oxfams values and mission Working knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office Flexibility to work weekends, Bank Holidays and evenings Ability to travel when required for district meetings and other activities Eligibility to work in Ireland and the UK
Desirable Experience in volunteer management Working Requirements This is a challenging but rewarding role requiring a dynamic, enthusiastic and flexible manager with excellent retail skills and first-class interpersonal skills. A flexible approach to working hours is required, with Saturday working being a requirement. During busy periods, the shop may need to operate seven days a week and late nights may be required.
