Are you interested in retail, people and making a real difference in your local community? Woking & Sam Beare Hospice is looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Shop Manager to help lead our new Chessington shop and support the continued success of our charity retail operation.

Our shops are far more than places to buy and donate goods. They are welcoming community spaces where every sale, donation and Gift Aid sign-up helps generate the income needed to keep our hospice services running. Retail income plays a vital role in enabling us to provide specialist palliative and end of life care for patients, carers and families across North West Surrey, both in the hospice and in people’s own homes.

In this varied and rewarding role, you will support the Shop Manager with day‑to‑day shop operations, guide and support our volunteers, create attractive displays, process donated stock and deliver excellent customer service. You will help maximise sales while ensuring everyone who visits, donates or volunteers feels welcome, valued and included.

We are looking for someone with retail or customer service experience, strong organisational skills and a positive, practical approach. You will enjoy working with people, identifying sales opportunities and contributing ideas to support the shop. Experience of charity retail or working with volunteers would be helpful, but it is not essential. What matters most is your commitment to excellent service and to supporting the hospice’s mission.
