Position: Sales Rep / Account Executive - Freight Forwarding

Sales Representative / Account Executive - Commercial Department - Freight Forwarding

Are you an experienced Freight Forwarding professional with a passion for sales and building long-term client relationships?

Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client who are looking for a driven and commercially minded Sales Representative / Account Executive to join their growing Commercial Department.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who understands the Freight Forwarding industry and thrives in a target-driven environment.

About the Role

As a key member of the sales team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing the full sales cycle, and developing long-term partnerships with clients. You will act as the main point of contact between the company and customers, ensuring a seamless journey from initial enquiry through to successful handover to operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively prospect, cold call, and qualify leads to build and maintain a strong sales pipeline
  • Manage the full sales cycle: from initial enquiry through pricing, negotiation with service providers, and closing bookings
  • Prepare and follow up on weekly/monthly quotes and tenders
  • Input costs and charges accurately into internal systems
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with new and existing clients to drive retention and repeat business
  • Focus on onboarding clients and building consistent weekly/bi-weekly/monthly shipment flow
  • Ensure a detailed and accurate handover to the Operations team once business is secured
  • Continuously identify opportunities to grow revenue and promote company services
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience within the Freight Forwarding industry (essential)
  • Strong understanding of import/export processes, pricing structures, and service provider negotiations
  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated, target-driven, and commercially aware
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: £31,000 - £37,000 (depending on experience)
