A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Regional Business Manager (RBM) will be a critical leader within the L'Oréal Dermatological Beauty (LDB) Division, directly responsible for leading, coaching, and inspiring a team of Dermatology Medical Representatives (DMRs) across a designated region. This role is fundamental to driving the adoption and sales of our innovative dermo-cosmetic products, ensuring strategic market presence, and consistently achieving ambitious commercial objectives.

The RBM will foster a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous professional development within their team. Success in this position requires a blend of strategic planning, effective people management, in-depth market understanding, and the ability to navigate complex healthcare dynamics while consistently delivering superior results aligned with L'Oréal’s broader commercial imperatives.

WHO YOU ARE
  • Experience:
    • Solid and proven track record, ideally in Dermatology, with ABPI qualification.
    • Demonstrable knowledge of the NHS/ HSE and customers within the local area.
    • Medical Sales background with a proven track record in driving success, with secondary care and key account management experience being highly desirable.
    • Management experience essential (3+ years), leading and coaching sales teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), influencing, and persuasiveness skills – proactive approach.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation, and networking skills.
  • A 'can-do' attitude, demonstrating initiative and the ability to get things done, working effectively both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Ability to be aware of developments in the NHS and local issues, assessing implications, communicating to the wider team, and tailoring local activities.
  • Capability to adapt strategy and tactics as appropriate.
  • Proficiency in IT systems for communication and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Regional Sales & Business Growth Leadership:
    • Leads & coaches the Regional team to achieve & exceed assigned personal and team objectives, including sales, market growth, and profit targets where applicable.
    • Ensures consistent and demonstrable KPI delivery across all team activities, driving product usage and generating recommendations/prescriptions from both Primary and Secondary care.
    • Develops and executes a comprehensive Regional Action Plan, translating UKI objectives into actionable local strategies that empower DMRs to thrive and achieve territory sales targets.
    • Implements product marketing strategies within the region, driving sales through agreed business objectives and maintaining high levels of product, clinical, customer, and competitor knowledge.
  • Manages and effectively coaches the Regional team of DMRs, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Actively leads, coaches, and inspires the DMR team, overseeing their performance management and guiding their professional development through methods like CONNECT, training.
  • Empowers DMRs to take ownership of their territories, providing guidance, coaching, and strategic support to enhance their capabilities and drive team success.
  • Ensures clear and SMART objectives are agreed upon for the team – regularly reviewing achievement & implementing activities to meet objectives for both individuals and the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management:
    • Achieves regional targets through individual activity, considering call rates, coverage, and frequency on identified customers, including Secondary care dermatologists (NHS and PVT), GPs, primary care prescribers, influencers, dermatology specialist nurses, and hospital/community pharmacists.
    • Actively builds and nurtures strong, strategic relationships with internal stakeholders (e.g., Comms, Marketing, Medical Relations, Finance, Digital, Data, Omnichannel) to ensure seamless execution of commercial strategies.
    • Represents the LDB Division at sales conferences and other events, leveraging networks to influence key opinion leaders and healthcare decision-makers.
