We're looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to join our Roofing Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven sales professional to play a key role in growing market share, developing strategic customer relationships, and promoting innovative roofing solutions across the UK.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, managing key accounts, and working closely with contractors, merchants, architects, specifiers, and roofing professionals to deliver sustainable growth.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Developing and implementing a regional sales strategy to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Identifying and converting new business opportunities within the roofing sector.
  • Building strong relationships with contractors, roofing installers, merchants, house builders, developers, and specifiers.
  • Driving product specifications through engagement with architects, consultants, and design teams.
  • Managing and growing existing customer accounts while identifying upselling opportunities.
  • Delivering product presentations, technical discussions, and commercial proposals.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities.
  • Collaborating with internal teams including Technical, Marketing, Customer Service, and Operations to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintaining accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity, and customer records using CRM systems.

About you

To be successful in this role you ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Business Development, Area Sales, Regional Sales, or Account Management role.
  • Strong track record of delivering sales growth and achieving targets.
  • Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and convert leads into long-term business partnerships.
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within your designated region.

Desirable:

  • Experience with in the roofing, construction, building products, or wider construction materials sector.
  • Knowledge of specification sales and route-to-market strategies.
  • Experience working with contractors, merchants, architects, and developers.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIOB, RIBA, NFRC) is advantageous.
