Our client is a growing energy and infrastructure business delivering complex projects across the public and private sectors. They provide feasibility, design and installation services across a range of energy, renewable and decarbonisation solutions, helping clients reduce costs, manage risk and deliver long‑term value.
Role Purpose
The Commercial Sales Manager will take ownership of the sales pipeline from initial enquiry through to signed contract, converting public and private sector relationships into feasibility opportunities, design‑and‑build projects and repeat business.
This is a target‑driven, client‑facing position focused on revenue generation, developing high‑quality proposals and closing commercial opportunities. You’ll work closely with technical and bid teams to ensure solutions are commercially attractive, deliverable and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the end‑to‑end sales pipeline across public and private sector accounts
- Build and maintain senior relationships with Estates, Sustainability and Procurement stakeholders, particularly across NHS Trusts and public bodies
- Develop and deliver against quarterly and annual sales targets
- Lead client‑facing proposal, pricing and commercial discussions
- Work with technical teams to shape feasibility and design‑and‑build solutions
- Negotiate commercial terms and close contracts
- Maintain accurate CRM records and provide regular sales performance reporting
- Represent the business at industry events, trust engagement days and sector forums
- Work with marketing to develop campaigns, case studies and sales collateral
- Ensure a smooth handover of won opportunities to delivery and contract management teams
What We’re Looking For
- Proven B2B sales or commercial sales management experience, ideally within construction, energy or technical/capital projects
- Experience selling into NHS, healthcare or wider public‑sector organisations, or a strong understanding of public‑sector procurement
- Confidence engaging and influencing senior stakeholders including Estates Directors, Heads of Sustainability and Procurement professionals
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to discuss pricing, margin and contract terms
- A structured approach to pipeline management and CRM
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the region
- LED, BMS, solar PV, renewables or decarbonisation solutions
- NHS funding routes and public‑sector procurement frameworks
- Existing relationships across NHS Estates or Sustainability teams in the North West
- Competitive base salary, dependent on experience
