Business Development Manager – Built Environment

Location: UK - South (Hybrid)

We're partnering with an innovation-led organisation operating at the intersection of technology, infrastructure and commercial growth to appoint a Business Development Manager focused on the Built Environment sector.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded individual who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities and helping clients solve complex challenges through innovative technologies and services. You will work with organisations across the built environment ecosystem, developing partnerships, creating new opportunities and supporting the growth of emerging solutions that deliver real-world impact. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge technologies, collaboration with technical specialists and the opportunity to help shape the adoption of innovation across the sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and grow relationships across the Built Environment sector.
  • Identify, qualify and progress new business opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Understand customer challenges and translate them into commercial opportunities.
  • Work closely with technical and commercial teams to build compelling solutions and proposals.
  • Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences and networking activities.
  • Support the development of bids, proposals and customer presentations.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and activity reporting through CRM systems.
  • Contribute market intelligence and customer feedback to support future growth strategies.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in business development, partnerships or commercial roles within the Built Environment sector.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities and develop them through a structured sales process.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and commercial way.
  • Experience working with multiple internal teams to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Strong presentation, proposal writing and customer engagement skills.
  • Commercially curious, proactive and motivated by innovation and problem-solving.
