We live by our values of working together, achieving for our customers, taking ownership, and having the opportunity to learn and grow.

About the Role:

As our Data Protection Business Partner, you’ll play a key role in helping Plus Dane manage information securely, confidently and in line with legal requirements. You’ll support our data protection framework, provide practical advice to colleagues across the business, co-ordinate statutory requests, maintain key registers and help build a strong culture of data protection awareness.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, translating legislation into clear guidance and supporting colleagues to do the right thing for customers, communities and the organisation.

What you’ll be doing

In this role, you’ll:

  • Support the development and implementation of our Data Protection Framework, policies and procedures
  • Co-ordinate data subject rights requests, including access, rectification, erasure and objection requests
  • Support the management, investigation and reporting of personal data breaches, helping identify learning and improvements
  • Advise colleagues on Data Protection Impact Assessments, information sharing and good data handling practice
  • Maintain key records and statutory registers, including ROPA, DPIA, breach and information sharing registers
  • Support training, guidance and awareness activity so colleagues understand and apply their data protection responsibilities
  • Horizon scan for changes in data protection, information rights and related legislation, helping Plus Dane stay compliant and prepared
What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who can bring:

  • A strong working knowledge of UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and relevant ICO guidance
  • Practical experience of co-ordinating subject access requests, rights requests and personal data breaches
  • Experience supporting or advising on DPIAs, data sharing, privacy consent and records of processing activity
  • The ability to assess risk, use sound judgement and know when to elevate for specialist advice
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to work constructively with colleagues at all levels
  • Good attention to detail, strong organisation skills and the ability to manage a varied workload with deadlines
  • A collaborative, improvement-focused approach and a commitment to Plus Dane’s values

You’ll join a purpose-led organisation where your expertise will have visible impact, helping protect the information of more than 30,000 customers and colleagues across Merseyside and Cheshire. You’ll work in a broad, regulated environment, influence good practice and continue to grow your expertise within a supportive team.

What you’ll get in return:

This role will be based in Merseyside and/or Cheshire, with flexibility to work in a way that supports both the needs of the role and the business.

  • You’ll be generously rewarded with a competitive salary and a great benefits package, including 35 days’ annual leave, plus bank holidays.
  • This includes a 3-day Christmas closedown between Christmas and New Year and you have the option to buy up to 5 extra days annually.
  • You’ll also benefit from a company pension scheme where we contribute 10%, and colleagues can contribute anything from 3% upwards.
  • We’re committed to our people’s wellbeing supported by an excellent management team, wellbeing champions, and mental health first aiders.
  • We actively encourage personal development, with plenty of opportunities to progress your career and access ongoing training, including formal qualifications.

If you need any adjustments to apply or attend an interview, please let us know.

If you’re ready to use your data protection knowledge to support a values-led organisation and make a meaningful difference to customers, colleagues and communities, we’d love to hear from you.
