- Carry out general plumbing and heating tasks to repair leaks, heating faults and clear blockages within commercial pipework.
- Repair and maintain heating systems and associated pipework/plumbing across client sites.
- Planned servicing of heating systems and associated pipework/plumbing and sanitary ware across commercial sites.
- Planned servicing/PPM checks on commercial sanitary systems and components.
- Install gas/oil boiler heating systems and associated pipework.
- Replace pipework/repair leaks on faulty or old parts.
- General plumbing/remedial works to heating systems and sanitary systems (including but not limited to: fitting magnetic filters, installing and maintaining boiler houses and their connections, fitting room stats, time clocks and/or programmers, replacement of radiators, valves, two‑port, three‑port etc).
- Complete work orders and maintain accurate records of maintenance and repairs performed.
- Liaise on an ongoing basis with supervisors, managers and team members.
- Ensure compliance with all general site rules, regulations, policies & procedures.
- Respond to emergency calls for repairs and perform work as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.
Essential Criteria
- Completed recognised National Craft Certificate Apprenticeship.
- OFTEC Registered.
- Relevant ACS, OFTEC or current ACOP's equivalent qualifications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- CCN1, CEN1, WAT1 & LPG, CKR1 and HTR1, OFTEC (Permanent dwellings).
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with other tradespeople.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, as required.
- Full UK Driving License experience.
- Fire safety trained.
- Training in patient confidentiality & appropriate behaviour.
- Infection prevention & control for hospitals.
- Asbestos awareness training.
- COSHH awareness.
- PASMA scaffolding training.
- IPAF MEWP training.
- Commercial gas qualification.
- IOSH/NEEBOSH.
- Up‑to‑date understanding of legislation relevant to the role.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Excellent communicator, able to convey information in a clear, simple and warm manner.
- Accomplished problem solver, ability to support proposal of contract reengineering.
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Confident decision maker under pressure.
- Flexible, reliable, responsible, calm in a crisis.
