The Opportunity:
In this role, you will provide vital interventions to young people aged 16-25, helping them build the skills and confidence necessary to maintain their own homes and live independently. You will act as a mentor, advocate, and practical guide, ensuring that the young people you support have the best possible start to their adult lives. A permanent contract following a successful temporary period. Requirements To be successful in this role, you must meet the following essential criteria: A valid NISCC registration, as well as enhanced vetting / compliance checks including an Enhanced Access NI check due to the nature of this work, this may include a Barred List check for both Children & Vulnerable Adults (depending on the role) 6 months of experience working with young people in supported housing or community-based support OR a relevant degree (Social Work, Youth & Community Work) plus 6 months of experience.
Proven experience in risk assessment, safety planning, and support planning. Understanding and knowledge of homelessness, mental health and substance use.
Key Responsibilities To establish a positive relationship with Young People and to support them to create a safe home environment. To provide holistic support (on a one to one and group basis) to all young people accessing the service, ensuring the support meets their needs. To work alongside and support the Housing Worker to provide practical and hands on support regarding budgeting, cooking, cleaning and running a home in conjunction with the young people's support plans to ensure a person centred approach.
Also, to ensure direction is taken in responding to arising safety concerns including adhering to safety plans in order to promote safeguarding. Be required to undertake any other duties to ensure the effective, safe delivery and development of services. Be flexible and willing to adapt to the changing needs of the young people and service, always putting young people first.
