Help transform the lives of women affected by sexual violence across Greater Manchester Greater Manchester Rape Crisis is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Social Worker (Social Work England Registered) to join our innovative GM Pathfinder Team. This is a unique opportunity to use your social work expertise within a specialist, trauma-informed service supporting women who have experienced sexual violence and who may also be navigating complex mental health, safeguarding and social care challenges.
Working across the Greater Manchester Pathfinder Partnership, you will support women accessing services through Greater Manchester Rape Crisis , MASH (Manchester Action on Street Health) and SARA. You will work directly with survivors, carers and partner agencies to identify and address social care needs that may be barriers to recovery and engagement with support. What Makes This Role Different? This is not a traditional statutory social work post .
Instead of carrying large statutory caseloads, you'll have the opportunity to work in a preventative, relational and trauma-informed way , helping women overcome barriers to safety, wellbeing and recovery. As part of an innovative partnership model, you'll work across multiple sites and services, collaborating with specialist practitioners from Greater Manchester Rape Crisis, MASH and SARA to provide holistic support for women with complex needs.

✔ Focus on empowerment, recovery and prevention while making a lasting difference to women's lives. About the Role As the Pathfinder Social Worker, you will:
Assess and identify social care needs that may impact a survivor's recovery from sexual trauma. Support women within partner organisations, community settings and across Greater Manchester. Work collaboratively with statutory and voluntary sector partners to improve outcomes. Provide consultation, guidance and leadership on social care legislation, safeguarding, policy and practice. Contribute to multidisciplinary and multi-agency working. Champion trauma-informed, survivor-centred and feminist approaches throughout the service.
About You
You will be:
A qualified and registered Social Worker. Experienced in working with adults who present with complex needs. Knowledgeable about safeguarding, mental health and social care legislation. Passionate about trauma-informed practice and supporting women affected by violence and abuse. A confident practitioner who can build effective partnerships across organisations and sectors.
