Funded until June 2027 Disability Action is a dynamic and thriving charity committed to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities across Northern Ireland. We provide a wide range of services and support to empower people with disabilities, in employment, education, advocacy and more. Ensuring they can live independently and participate fully in society. The post holder will provide effective, timely one-to-one and group learning support, responding to the diverse needs of young learners participating in Disability Actions Skills for Life and Work (SFLW
25) provision. The Learning Support Worker will implement an agreed support plan, following a pre-planned timetable of skills learning activities, work placements, and social development experiences, to support young learners in reaching their milestones, qualifications, and career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities Thekeydutiesandmajorresponsibilitiesofthe Learning Support Worker will include:
Provide direct one to one and group-based learning support to a planned schedule of activities, timings, outputs and quality measures, within the DA Skills Hub, remotely via online platforms, and on work placement or other SfL&W development activities Plan and deliver support activities to meet the individual needs and preferred learning styles of young learners with disabilities, using a variety of tools, methods and materials, including partner organisations resources as appropriate, consistent with the young learners current skills learning focus and achievement milestones Accurately record daily activities, outputs and outcomes and obtain appropriate signatures of work completed to the required standard on SfL&W records, and submit for relevant processing, monitoring and reporting Collaborate effectively with the SfL&W Delivery Manager and wider DA teams, to effectively monitor and review service delivery to meet contractual and organisational financial, KPIs and quality measures and quality improvement planning throughout the contract duration.

Establish and maintain accurate and timely records that supports effective ongoing monitoring and review of own quality and timeliness of support provided and raise any immediate concerns with the SfL&W Delivery Manager for appropriate follow up. Develop and maintain close working relationships with key staff, such as other SfL&W Engagement officer, Project Finance Officer, Skills Tutors and partner organisations to ensure that DA support is responsive to emerging requirements Source, secure, and provide ongoing support for meaningful work-experience placements tailored to the needs and strengths of young learners and the support needs of the placement provider Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding policies and ensure all safeguarding procedures are consistently followed to protect young learners wellbeing.

Provide empathetic, person-centred wellbeing support that respects the individual needs, abilities, and experiences and participate in specific wellbeing activities co-ordinated by others To adhere to agreed corporate quality standards and best practice. To undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by Disability Action in line with the status of the post.

Essential Criteria Have at least two years-experience (with at least one year being in the last two years), in a related role in employability, training, teaching, or learning support Possession of GCSE Mathematics and English at Grace C or above (or an equivalent qualification).
