We are seeking compassionate and reliable Homeless Support Workers to support individuals experiencing homelessness and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide person-centred support to individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
* Support service users with daily living skills and encourage greater independence.
* Assist with support plans, risk assessments and accurate record keeping.
* Promote positive wellbeing and support individuals with mental health, substance misuse and other complex needs.
* Respond appropriately to challenging situations and safeguarding concerns.
* Liaise effectively with colleagues, statutory agencies and other professionals.
* Maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding, Health & Safety and organisational procedures.
Essential Criteria
* Minimum of 3 GCSEs at grades A–C, including Maths and English, or equivalent.
* Minimum of 1 year's relevant paid work experience or 2 years' relevant volunteering experience.
* Good working knowledge of risk assessment and risk management processes.
* Good IT skills, including experience using systems to record client information.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to compile and present accurate written and electronic reports.
* Understanding of homelessness and the issues that can lead to homelessness.
* Understanding of the support that can be offered within homeless services to promote positive futures.
* Knowledge of statutory and voluntary sector resources available to individuals experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness.
* Understanding of the importance of maintaining Health & Safety standards within service delivery.
* Knowledge of relevant statutory and voluntary agencies, with the ability to effectively network and liaise with relevant professionals and organisations.
Salary is Depending on Experience and the Role.
