VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a leading social justice organisation with the recruitment of a Dispersed Accommodation Officer to join their team in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced support professional with a strong understanding of supported housing, risk management and trauma-informed practice.

You will be joining a collaborative service delivered through a partnership focused on providing safe, supported accommodation as an alternative to traditional remand.

About you
  • Experience with in supported housing or a similar accommodation-based support environment.
  • Knowledge of tenancy legislation and licence agreements.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex needs.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience identifying and managing risks, including domestic abuse, coercive control and substance misuse.
  • Understanding of bail conditions, court reporting and multi‑agency working.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively in challenging situations.
  • Active NISCC registration or willingness to obtain registration.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business purposes.
What you'll do
  • Manage and oversee dispersed accommodation properties, ensuring they remain safe, suitable and ready for occupancy.
  • Work with housing partners to identify and procure suitable properties.
  • Support the approval process with relevant statutory bodies.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and address any issues identified.
  • Complete participant inductions and explain licence agreements, house rules and expectations.
  • Provide a supportive "warm handover" for participants leaving custody.
  • Assist participants with Housing Benefit and Universal Credit applications.
  • Ensure participants receive appropriate welcome and starter packs.
  • Maintain regular communication with key workers and statutory agencies.
  • Share relevant compliance and risk information appropriately.
  • Work with community and voluntary organisations to coordinate support.
  • Identify emerging risks, including domestic abuse, coercion and escalating substance use.
