API Software Engineer; mid-level

Overview

API Software Engineer (Mid-Level) We've just had some further roles go live with one of our Belfast based Fin Tech partners who are on a big AI-focused hiring drive for 2026. They're hiring for a number of API development roles with this one coming in at mid-level on the team. It's a hybrid role based in Belfast and further info on the requirements is below:

• Build production-grade REST APIs using C# .NET, SQL, Azure
• Implement secure authentication (OAuth, JWT) and modern API security patterns
• Create clean, well‑documented APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger
• Optimise performance, logging, monitoring, and CI/CD pipelines
• Partner with engineering and AI teams to expose scalable, consistent API capabilities

• Strong C# .NET backend experience
• Solid SQL and relational database skills
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Familiarity with OAuth/JWT, cloud deployments (Azure), and unit/integration testing

• Azure API Management or API gateways
• Event-driven patterns / messaging
• Developer experience tooling or third‑party integration APIs
