PHP Developer

MCS Group is proud to be working with an international SaaS success story as they seek a mid-level PHP Developer with strong Symfony experience to join a product focused environment. They have offices all over the world but seek talent to work remotely in Ireland/Northern Ireland.

This is not an agency or freelance style role. It's a structured software engineering environment with proper processes, CI/CD, testing standards, and long-term product ownership.

You’ll be working within a collaborative, agile engineering team responsible for evolving and scaling a complex PHP-based platform.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing and building backend components using PHP (Symfony)
• Developing integrations with ERP systems, payment gateways and APIs
• Contributing to frontend functionality
• Writing automated tests (PHPUnit / Codeception / Cypress)
• Working with CI/CD pipelines and AWS-based deployments
• Participating in sprint ceremonies, technical design and code reviews
• Troubleshooting performance and scalability issues in production

• Commercial PHP experience in a SaaS or product-based software company
• Strong Symfony experience (preferred over Laravel)
• Experience working on structured, long-term codebases
• Understanding of system design and scalable backend architecture
• Exposure to Docker, CI/CD and cloud environments (AWS ideal)
• Experience writing automated tests as part of your workflow
• Comfortable working in an agile environment

• Permanent Role with salary up to €55,000
