The Role

This role sits within the QA Automation team and is focused on strengthening automated testing capability across a modern engineering platform. You will work with Playwright and Type Script to build, extend, and maintain the automation framework ... ensuring quality and reliability across the product suite. This is not a manual QA position. It is an engineering-led role that requires technical depth, hands-on coding capability, and the confidence to contribute from day one with minimal ramp-up time.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test suites using Playwright and Type Script
• Extend and improve the structure of an existing automation framework
• Identify gaps in test coverage and drive systematic improvements
• Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate automated test execution into the delivery workflow
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality is embedded across new features
• Contribute to the long-term automation capability of the Belfast engineering function

What You'll Need

Essential

• Strong commercial experience in test automation
• Proven, hands-on Playwright experience in a production environment
• Strong Type Script capability
• Solid understanding of automated testing principles, frameworks, and CI/CD integration
• Right to work in the UK

Nice to have

• Development background or experience transitioning from a software engineering role into QA
• Familiarity with the wider modern testing toolchain
