Lead Software Engineer

Enso Recruitment are excited to be working with a fast-growing, ambitious technology business who are continuing to scale their engineering team and are now looking to bring a talented Lead Software Engineer on board.

You'll lead the architectural design and delivery of mission-critical, high-performance systems, working closely with leadership and a talented engineering team in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex architectural decisions, shaping how the core platform is built and scaled over time
• Drive the design and delivery of secure, high-performance features across mission-critical systems
• Build and maintain robust APIs that allow global partners to integrate reliably with the platform
• Work closely with product and engineering teams to turn ambitious ideas into well-engineered, production-ready solutions
• Raise the technical bar across the team; championing best practices, quality, and a culture of continuous improvement
• Play an active role in developing the engineers around you, sharing knowledge and helping the team grow through hands-on guidance and collaborative code reviews

About You

• Deep expertise in Type Script and Java Script , with a strong background in complex, high-scale backend environments
• A natural systems thinker. You design for performance, security, and long-term maintainability from the start
• Solid experience building and scaling distributed systems and RESTful APIs that handle serious workloads
• Equally comfortable working with engineers and non-technical stakeholders, translating complexity into clarity
• Thrives in a fast-paced, Agile environment and takes personal ownership of the quality and integrity of what gets shipped
• Someone who is energised by building not just the product, but the team and culture around it
