Junior Software Engineer

Junior Software Engineer Salary: £28,000 - £38,000 Full-time | Hybrid | Northern Ireland The Opportunity We are looking for a Junior Software Engineer to join a growing technology team and contribute to the development and improvement of modern software applications. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their software engineering career who wants to build commercial experience, work alongside experienced engineers and develop their technical skill set.

We are open to candidates with backgrounds in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development or related technical disciplines. What you'll be doing You will work as part of an engineering team, contributing to the development and maintenance of software solutions. Your responsibilities may include:
* Developing and maintaining software applications
* Writing clean, maintainable and well tested code
* Supporting the development of new features
* Investigating and resolving software issues
* Working with databases and APIs
* Participating in code reviews and technical discussions
* Working with version control and modern development practices
* Supporting testing and deployment activities
* Learning new technologies and improving existing skills
* Working closely with other engineers, product teams and business stakeholders What we're looking for You will ideally have some experience or knowledge of:
* Java, C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, Type Script or another modern programming language
* Object oriented programming
* SQL and relational databases
* REST APIs and web technologies
* Git or similar version control systems
* Software development principles and testing Commercial experience would be beneficial, but we are also open to candidates with strong academic, project or placement experience.

Desirable Experience with any of the following would be useful:
* React, Angular or similar frontend frameworks
* AWS, Azure or GCP
* Docker
* CI/CD
* Agile/Scrum
* Automated testing
* Microservices We are particularly interested in candidates who are curious, motivated and keen to develop within a commercial engineering environment.
