22.5 hours per week to work Thurs/Fri and any other day required during the week including Saturday working

Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment across our local hospital network. If you have a full driving licence with a C1 entitlement (allowing you to drive rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tons Gross Vehicle Weight) and hold a digital tachograph card, you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.

A full Driver Qualification card (CPC – Certificate of Professional Competence) is advantageous but full training is available.

As a Driver on our HSSU team, you’ll be comfortable with manual handling and ready to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250 kg. You should possess a basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation and ideally hold a digital tachograph card. You’ll also act as a great ambassador for our unit and serve as our customers’ first point of contact.

• Collect and make deliveries to our customers.
• Keep equipment & delivery vehicles in good working order and report any faults or defects.
• Maintain a clean, tidy work environment and identify stock issues as they arise.
• Maintain accurate tachograph records and documentation.
• Be flexible with your working hours (shifts operate between 4 am and 9 pm, Monday to Friday with varying times on Saturdays).
