As a Swissport Airside Team Leader
, you will play a vital role in our airport operation. You will motivate, engage and inspire staff to deliver the best possible service as well as maintain excellent relationships with customers and authorities.
- Supervise/allocate tasks including reporting absences and overtime.
- Plan and deploy resources to ensure rosters meet customer and operational requirements.
- Develop an open feedback culture by managing the performance of employees and ensure workplace standards are maintained.
- Ensure compliance with all Swissport corporate safety and security procedures to meet or exceed regulatory standards and deliver the desired customer service experience.
- Maintain up-to-date manuals and documentation as required.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers and Airport Authorities.
- Encourage consistency and collaboration by ensuring clear communication at all levels, including staff briefings, shift handover meetings, one‑to‑ones, and completion of relevant reports.
- Ensure compliance with Swissports SOPs and policies.
- Ensure maximum efficiency in the operation of inbound and outbound flights.
- Resolve conflicts and irregularities and take appropriate action.
- Be responsible for maintenance of assigned equipment and materials.
- Contribute or assist with local emergency plans.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Flexible to work a variety of shifts (days, evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays).
- Ability to speak and understand the English language.
- Ability to travel to the airport when public transport is not available.
- Ability to follow processes and procedures and apply a flexible approach when required.
- Willingness to work in inclement weather.
- Capable of working in a manual environment and lifting up to 32 kg throughout a shift if required.
- Capable of working as part of a team in a challenging environment.
- Previous experience working in an aviation environment is desired.
- Experience leading teams.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Possesses a full driving licence.
- Completing three years of continuous service, typically.
- Attaining competency in all basic, intermediate, and advanced tasks and duties.
- Understanding and accepting the requirement to undertake additional duties and responsibilities associated with the seniority of this role.
- Demonstrating competent supervisory skills and/or attending the relevant supervisory skills course(s).
