The Role As a Porter, you'll work alongside experienced drivers and installation teams to deliver goods to customers' homes and businesses. You'll play a key role in ensuring deliveries are completed safely, efficiently, and with excellent customer service. This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling, heavy lifting, assembling products, and supporting installations at customer sites. Day-to-day duties include:
Assisting drivers with deliveries and collections across the UK. Safely loading and unloading goods from vehicles. Delivering products into customers' homes, offices, and commercial premises. Assisting with the assembly and installation of furniture, equipment, and other products. Removing packaging and ensuring customer premises are left clean and tidy after installations. Handling goods carefully to prevent damage during transportation and delivery.
Carrying items safely using correct manual handling techniques. Supporting the driver with delivery paperwork and route schedules where required. Providing excellent customer service and maintaining a professional attitude at all times. Occasionally staying away overnight when operational requirements require. Requirements Previous experience in removals, furniture delivery, warehouse work, logistics, or installation is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting and manual handling. Reliable, punctual, and flexible. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Able to work effectively as part of a team. Valid DBS check (essential). What's on Offer £13.50 per hour . Monday to Friday working pattern. Temp-to-permanent opportunity. Uniform provided.
