Location:
Belfast Salary: £30,000-£35,000 per annum Job Type: Full-time, Permanent This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in transport planning, logistics and customs compliance to take responsibility for coordinating third-party transport, managing inbound deliveries and ensuring the smooth and cost-effective movement of goods. The successful candidate will work closely with transport providers, suppliers, warehouses and internal teams, while also managing key customs requirements including TSS, bonded movements and HMRC processes.
Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate third-party transport for collections and deliveries Ensure goods are collected and delivered within agreed operational deadlines Source competitive transport rates and negotiate with haulage providers Build and maintain strong relationships with transport and logistics partners Monitor transport performance and resolve delays or delivery issues Manage Trader Support Service (TSS) requirements Prepare, record and monitor bonded goods movements Complete and maintain customs documentation through HMRC systems Maintain accurate records in preparation for customs and compliance audits Liaise with customs agents, freight forwarders and relevant agencies Manage the inbound goods booking diary and coordinate warehouse delivery slots Maintain accurate transport costs, records and supporting documentation Arrange CHEP pallet movements and maintain relevant pallet records Produce transport and performance reports Identify opportunities to improve transport efficiency and reduce costs What We're Looking For Essential:
Previous experience within logistics, transport planning or supply chain Experience coordinating third-party haulage providers Good understanding of transport operations, ideally within grocery or FMCG Knowledge of TSS procedures and customs compliance
Experience with bonded movements and HMRC customs processes Strong organisational and planning skills Excellent attention to detail Confident negotiating transport rates and managing costs Strong communication and relationship management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Competent using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Desirable:
Experience using customs software or HMRC online systems Knowledge of import and export procedures
Experience with warehouse booking systems
The Ideal Candidate You will be highly organised, commercially aware and proactive, with the ability to solve problems quickly and keep goods moving efficiently. You'll be comfortable working independently while building strong relationships with suppliers, hauliers and internal teams.
