Full-Time | Permanent Monday to Friday | 10-hour shifts between 5:30am and 6:00pm An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised Transport Planner to join a busy logistics operation in Warrington. This is a permanent position offering excellent career development opportunities for the right candidate. In this role, you will be supporting a variety of activities across the business, with daily liaison between sales, customer services, and warehouse departments. The role will involve providing ongoing support to our Warehouse team and directly reporting to the Transport Manager.
Key Responsibilities Plan and coordinate daily transport operations and customer deliveries. Ensure all delivery schedules and customer deadlines are met. Organise vehicle routes and workloads to maximise efficiency and profitability. Optimise routes to reduce operational costs and minimise environmental impact. Monitor fleet performance and analyse transport data to identify opportunities for improvement. Allocate warehouse tasks throughout the day in line with transport requirements.
Support the delivery of a reliable next-day service to customers nationwide. Liaise closely with warehouse and customer service teams to maintain exceptional service levels. Ensure compliance with all transport legislation, policies, and Health & Safety requirements. Monitor vehicle checks and driver compliance procedures. Investigate and resolve transport-related issues, claims, and delivery discrepancies. Report on returns and quality issues affecting logistics performance.
Maintain and exceed agreed departmental KPIs. Make effective decisions within tight timescales and changing operational demands. Requirements:
Previous experience in a Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, or similar role. Strong IT skills and confidence using transport management systems. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ability to build positive relationships across departments. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify improvements. Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills. Good geographical knowledge of the UK road network.
