Warehouse Operative - Forklift

Overview

A busy public-facing organisation is seeking an experienced Warehouse Operative to support day-to-day stores and distribution functions. This role will involve order picking, goods handling and operating a counterbalance forklift in a fast-paced environment.

• Loading and unloading deliveries using a counterbalance forklift
• Picking and packing orders accurately in line with pick sheets
• Moving stock safely within the warehouse and yard
• Carrying out goods-in checks and reporting discrepancies
• Labelling, wrapping and preparing items for dispatch
• Maintaining accurate stock records and updating internal systems
• Assisting with stock counts and inventory control
• Ensuring the warehouse is kept clean, organised and safe at all times
• Adhering to all health & safety procedures and manual handling practices
• Supporting other warehouse and logistics tasks as required

• Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (in date)
• Previous experience in a warehouse, stores or logistics environment
• Experience with order picking and packing
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-moving environment
• Good understanding of health & safety within a warehouse setting
• Strong team player with a flexible approach to duties
• Willingness to undertake manual handling tasks

• Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems
• Previous experience working in a public-sector or large organisation
• Driving licence and access to transport
