Job Description

Asa Warehouse Shift Manager you will contribute to the success of the site by supporting the Operations

Managerin the day-to-day running of the warehouse, ensuring all aspects of Health & Safety within the Warehouse are maintained and product is picked and dispatched to the highest standard in order to meet contractual KPI’s.

This is a full time, permanent role, working the hours of 4 on 4 off nights,

Key Duties of a Warehouse Shift Manager:

  • Manage and motivate the shift teamin order toensure that productivity and service KPI’sare achievedor exceeded.
  • Ensure the highest possible levels of health, safety and hygiene are upheldso that legislative and quality requirements can be complied with, ensuring relevant paperwork is completed and retained.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of Quality and compliance are maintained and that the site operates to the Audit standard required.
  • Deliver communication briefings so that allshiftsare aware of all Company and local issues and employees are abletooffer input / improvements and feel involved.
  • Manage Goods Inwards area to ensure that receipts are made quickly and without damaging goods so that stock is available to satisfy orders.
  • Develop all team members so that their contributions to the Warehouse can be maximised and succession plan.
  • Carry out disciplinary / grievance interviews and investigations in line with Company procedure.
  • Monitor and control sickness absence levels in line with Company policy andcarry outreturn to work interviews effectively and efficiently.
  • Monitor and control time and attendance system.
  • To offer regular feedback, formal and informal, on team and individual performance, including behavioural issues and highlighting good performance and areas for further development.
  • Man power planning, by ensuring the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost effectively run the shift.
  • Enforce and adhere all Company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control training for teams, ensuring the correct amount of health & safety representation on shift, i.e. First Aiders, Fire Marshallsetc.
  • Support Management in any ad-hoc duties within the Warehouse function.
Qualifications
  • Operational management experience within a FMCG warehouse environment
  • Have a good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation.
  • Experience of Leading and Mentoring a large team
  • Knowledge of warehouse health & safety legislation, including accident and incident investigation and root cause analysis
  • Knowledge of consolidation and loading operations in FMCG Industry
  • Previous experience of WMS systems with the ability to interrogate the information
  • The ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
  • Effectively prioritise work load in order to meet set deadlines.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Office – Word and Excel
