Freelance Java Developer; Azure Cloud

Position: Vivid Resourcing - Freelance Java Developer (Azure Cloud)

For a customer in Antwerp, we are searching for a freelance Java Developer to working in the Daily Banking team and play a key role in maintaining, developing, and testing Java backend services that are essential to their payment systems. These services are strongly integrated with external partners as well as internally developed applications.

You will also be actively involved in our current modernization program, in which we are migrating our application to a new cloud environment—Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)—using Terra Form.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Architect and Functional Analyst to design a robust solution that fits within the existing IT landscape.

Integrate with external systems such as Sopra and Worldline to ensure seamless transaction processing.

Work within an Agile/Scrum team following the SAFe framework.

Ensure quality by participating in the testing of delivered code.

Continuously improve the codebase and processes through code reviews, automation, and the implementation of best practices.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field

At least 3 years of experience with Java and the Spring Framework

Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Azure

Knowledge of financial systems and integration platforms such as Sopra is a plus

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
