Freelance Odoo Accountant

Location: Ghent (Belgium)

Contract Type: Freelance, Full-time (Initial contract period of 3 months, with potential for extension)

The ideal candidate will be an Odoo expert with a strong background in accounting. This role requires a senior accountant with 5-7 years of comprehensive accounting experience, capable of handling the full spectrum of accounting tasks from A to Z. The successful applicant will be responsible for invoicing, monthly closing procedures, and preparing detailed financial reports. Knowledge of VAT, corporate tax, and reporting standards is essential, as well as experience in group accounting.

• Manage end-to-end invoicing processes within the Odoo platform.
• Execute monthly closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
• Input and maintain data related to bank accounts within Odoo.
• Oversee VAT and corporate tax compliance and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to assist in planning and controlling processes.

• Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with a focus on senior-level responsibilities.
• Expertise in Odoo is a must; suitable candidates should be very proficient with the platform.
• Strong understanding of the complete accounting lifecycle, from transaction recording to financial reporting.
• Prior experience in group accounting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with VAT, corporate tax, and generally accepted reporting standards.
• Experience with Power BI for data analysis and reporting will be considered a significant asset.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.

• Fluency in Dutch is required.
• Proficiency in English is preferred.
• Knowledge of French is considered a plus.
