Martien, 23 years old and a Commercial Economics student, joined our Business Development Team for his internship. In this interview, he shares his experience and the highlights of his time with us.
Responsibilities- Gain a broad view of how sales and Business Development works at Booking Experts, including exploration of markets (e.g., Belgium and the Caribbean region).
- Work with Hub Spot and contact potential customers through Linked In, email, and phone.
- Contribute to strategy discussions by analyzing competitors or lost deals, and participate as part of the team rather than as an intern.

- Analysis of lost deals: researched why some potential customers decided not to choose us and summarized this in a report with recommendations; the Business Development Team used the report, providing a sense of real contribution.
“I want to finish my studies, but this internship gave me clarity. I find sales and Business Development in the hospitality-tech sector really interesting.”
Advice for new interns“Don’t be afraid to ask questions and take initiative. You learn the most here by actively participating and sharing your ideas.”
